Here at LoneStar Cowboy Church, we give joyfully—trusting that God will use our tithes and offerings to change lives, strengthen our community, and bless others in need. And when we give faithfully, God always gives back in ways that overflow with His goodness and grace.
Built on Sacrifice, Faith, and the Word
In 2000, Pastor Randy was invited to preach at a local Bible study in Montgomery, Texas, igniting a clear vision in the hearts of Pastor Randy and Pastor Darla. They felt a distinct calling from God to plant an authentic, welcoming church designed to meet people exactly where they were with the grace and love of Jesus Christ. From those humble beginnings, Montgomery Cowboy Fellowship was born.
The initial Monday night services took place in an old western-town setup in downtown Montgomery. There was nothing fancy about those early gatherings, just good people coming together to open Scripture, worship, and build genuine community. Yet behind the simple setup was a big mission: to create a place where cowboys, cowgirls, ranchers, and families from all walks of life could find a place to belong. As the fellowship grew, the Monday night gatherings moved from location to location, including stops at the Texas Perfection Ranch and the Price Ranch, expanding the church’s reach with every move.
Step by step, God provided a permanent 52-acre home along Highway 105 near downtown Montgomery. Taking on the property was a major leap of faith, but before a sanctuary could be built, the congregation gathered under a large tent. As the ministry continued to grow and reach more people, Montgomery Cowboy Fellowship became Lone Star Cowboy Church. Through sweltering Texas summers and cold winter nights, those unpolished days served as a powerful reminder that the church was never defined by a brick-and-mortar building, but by a faithful community. During that season, the church also erected a rodeo arena on the property, turning event competitions into a hands-on ministry for the Western community.
What began with a handful of people gathering for a weeknight Bible study had grown into a thriving church family. Yet through every change, every move, and every new chapter, one thing remained constant: God’s faithfulness.
Today, Lone Star Cowboy Church carries that same heart and vision forward. We believe there is a place here for everyone, a place to come as you are, find real community, discover hope and purpose, and experience a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
From a simple Bible study to a growing church family, our story is ultimately a story of God’s faithfulness. And we’re still just getting started.
